From the upper part of the land, just below the top. Unseen, to the right, is an empty water cistern down in the land. View to the South.
View to the south, from the upper part. Natural green and in total 10 olive trees on the property. The big bush in front is about 10 m wide and 3-4 m high. Of this type there are at last 4 such big bushes. They look like 'mammoot azalia', but do not know what it is.
In good years southeast Crete has 475 mm of rain, but the last years 240 mm of rain is more normal. This type of climate is called arid.
The temperature is here mostly between 12 and 37 C, with night temperatures in winter going down to 7 and in summer the hottest days will be 42 C. This is called subtropical.
This makes the climate Arid Subtropical, zone 10b.
Same place, looking SW-W.
The location of agricultural water distribution point is about 100-200 m away. I hope to get excess to agricultural water in the autumn/winter through black plastic pipes.
The meaning is to collect water from the roofs of future buildings. Grey water from the outdoor shower and the outdoor kitchen will be guided to a banana circle on the lower right down side of the land.
The first coming two winters I will be staying here in a caravan, located just below and south of the first 'mammoot azalea' on the lower right side of the land, bordering the sand road going upward. Later this caravan will be available for permaculturists, whoofers and friends. But there will always be room for a tent too.
Plans for winter 2017/2018 are building a compost toilet, an outdoor kitchen in front of the caravan, an outdoor shower, making an outdoor cooler, preparing the banana circle, building and rotating a chicken coop and planting Prickly Pears bordering the sand road ...
